ALICE COOPER FILM TACKLES DRINK AND DRUGS BATTLE

A documentary on the life and career of Alice Cooper scan your struggle with alcohol and drugs - a part of his life, rarely discussed in public.

Filmmaker Sam Dunn of Banger Films Canadian firm says his film, Super Duper Alice Cooper, the iconic singer sees discuss issues away from previously avoided.

Dunn says Bravewords: "The problem of drug abuse was never something he had talked about before - it was a taboo for him I did not think it was cool to be a junkie I think also what makes it different Alice than a bunch of rockers is . . . What has this moral compass that comes with a Christian education. His father was a pastor.

“So we try to tell the story of Alice in a way that gave a sense of where he came from and how this lifestyle that was caught in a kind of threat to dismantle their own customs and principles with which he grew up.”

Dunn and Scot McFadyen former colleague this week announced that they are working on films about Black Sabbath and Soundgarden . And on Super Duper Alice Cooper, have traced the rise of Cooper in the 1970s, his descent into drug and alcohol abuse and his return to form in the 1980s.

Dunn adds. “I suppose in many ways the story of Alice is the story of rock and roll origins typical White picket fence, and then be absorbed by the storm of rock in the 60s and 70s, and rock bottom with drugs and alcohol and then make a triumphant return.”
