Dynamite To Launch 'Alice Cooper' Comic Book Series In September

"There are so many things you can do in the form of a comic I'd never been able to do on stage," says the rocker of his new monthly comic book series.

Dynamite Entertainment has become quite the iconoclast editor in its tenth year, the release of comics featuring Doc Savage; Flash Gordon; the key figures of solar gold, Atom Man and Turok; Dinosaur Hunter; and crossover Django / Fox recently announced. But their news takes things to a different level.

"Artistically, for me is not just a way better," Cooper said in a statement accompanying the announcement. "There are so many things you can do in the form of a comic I'd never been able to do on stage.'s Just a different way of telling stories, and it really has almost unlimited possibilities. We are looking forward to stretch the current limits of the medium comic book again. We have new stories to tell, but we will do the same theatrical sensibility loss that comes with the name "Alice Cooper." This is just the beginning and welcome to my new nightmares! "

Cooper has a long history in the comic book medium, having previously appeared in Marvel Premiere issues in the 1970s and 1990s miniseries Alice Cooper: The Last Temptation, written by Neil Gaiman (Dynamite also throws this last book in a deluxe edition this October).
